As Above, So Below
19th - 23rd January 2023 Den Haag, NL
An exhibition featuring 40 projects from The Fool Collective, at The Grey Space in the Middle.
The Hellenistic figure Hermes Trismegistus wrote:
That which Below corresponds to that which is Above
And that which is Above corresponds to that which is Below
To accomplish the miracles of the One Thing
As above, So below marks the second chapter in the Fools journey. 'The Fool' is a guide and reminder to wear our open hearts. As we begin refining our practices, old links gradually fade and make space for new connections. We have constructed a network of interconnected individual works where materiality shifts between the fragile and the solid. We invite our audience to shape their interpretations and interrelations to create new paths of understanding.
By embracing, we allow alignments of elements. Immaterial and material, from our different positions and knowledge. All together we create stories told in various visual languages. They can produce order and new negotiated meanings. Our stories are wired in the middle but disperse their individual points, allowing them to take different turns and directions.

We Do/Are Photography
20th - 22nd October 2022 Cologne, DE
The exhibited works are the results of a week-long field trip that second year students from the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague (KABK) produced over an intensive 5 days in March, 2022 in Cologne. The goal of the field trip is to
introduce students to conceiving, developing, executing, and displaying a photographic project produced under as close to real-world circumstances as they can get. Using the city of Cologne as inspiration, students scour their minds and the streets to create a unique set of photographs that are transformed in the course of process. Using a variety of methods to display photography, students are exposed to what it takes to make a photographic project under real-world circumstances.
For this exhibition a group of students, Anna Andrejew, Enrico Carpi, Matevz Cebasek, Matej Filipic, and Giulia Menicucci; and lead by faculty members Yara van der Velden and Donald Weber; together they explored the works produced in Cologne and adapted to a site-specific exposition.
