Entangling silence and sound
In the sudden obsession about silence, I noticed that to depict it is impossible as it is something that cannot be grasp nor materialized.
I found places and moments in nature where tension of silence and noise are coexisting. Those moments I tried to understand. I observed through two opposite medias. One silent, one noisy. Translating what I saw, from image into sound, to break the idea of the photographic medium as silence and translating sound back to an image, to make it soundless again.
By definition of language, silence and noise are opposing each other but what lays in the middle between two opposites?
In the process of playing two medias back and forth, I engaged and entangled them into each other. Weaving them so closely together until the point where they merged into one and the same. This process connected two opposites and represents them as one. Where opposites met in the same shade of blue. Deeply connected and dependent on one another. To emerge as the same.

What is our desperate desire to reintroduce nature?
Coming from a place where nature is a given, I found fascination on how humans interact and place themselves withhin nature. More accurately, the ways in which they reintroduce it to certain areas that have long been destined for urban purposes. By investigating the specific example of Neuland in Köln Rodenkirchen, an urban garden build on a former wasteland, the work senses the friction between natural and artificial, the interaction between human and nature and the size of human perspectives on our imediate surrounding.
The example also connects and reflects upon a bigger concept. About non graspable sensations of desire towards our uncontainable surrounding. Brining together our inner sensations in the example of natural occurrences.
Can there be life lived organically in symbiosis?
