Away, away, to not run away

When feeling overwhelmed, I tend to fantasize about leaving everything and everyone behind. Acknowledging that elsewhere a whole new life can be created. No past. Somewhere that isn’t really there.

Many consider leaving, yet only few people act upon it. This made me curious to the mental state the fantasy provides. The fantasy of the escape as an escape, yet the mind a prison in being this free. At least imagining the warmth of the sun.

As it is a fantasy, it cannot be unfulfilled.

An ode to all those with a fickle mind.

Cats can see it’s just a street

What if I trust the dark for a moment?

A rising heartbeat
Someone that might be there
To give the night some company

A walk down the streets of Köln.
01:00 – 04:00

Alone.

The night isn’t equal.
I could hide in the dark, embrace it
For that potential other has no cat’s eyes.
Or perhaps one day, this other shows themself
For the human eye, in the light

No need for seeing like a cat
To feel safe
Anywhere.
